No money? Keep traveling

The best trips always seam to be open to people who have the biggest ressources. We think that the more you money you make, the more activities you can enjoy in your free time, and the more wealth and exotic are your holidays souvenirs. This is a strong stereotype of the link between money and holidays. Now, this is how you can get around it.

When you touch low financial means, you’re used to go on holidays by car, for a week-end on the closest sea-side from home. Right. But you can also manage longer trips at low costs with to the co-travelling car applications. Or take the couch apps’s flats, to find decent rooms, cheaper than hotels. These are solutions, but there are still issues for students who specifically need to save the money they make, instead of using it for traveling. Also you must make sure you have enough time to organise these holidays. And moreover, many students have to work during vacations time, on summer.

It’s about to move …

Let’s see how to step out of the vicious circle. The main stakes of independent travel, are moving, and having a roof over you head at night. Travelling through country lands offer you the possibility to make wild camping. It’s not allowed in countries like England but trust us. You can still use it anywhere you go, it you’re able to find places and keep quite while you’re staying. The municipal parks and the land fields will always be able to welcome your thirst of adventure. Have a tent, drop it in the places you fancy the most, take a decent thirty of forty litters hiking bag to put in your clothes, necessary props, and you’ll be able to travel as you like. Say what ? You might even be able to put your tent in front of the most interesting monuments, just dare to !

… and sleep well

Okay, you might not be able to deal with several days without a shower. Actually there are alternative solutions, but anyway. Whoever you are, you’ll need to have a rest in a proper bed, in the middle of your trip, and after several days of bivouac. But we’re still without money, clear !
Just join somebody’s home for the night. You may manage this with the Couchsurfing app. Enter the name of the city wherever you’re staying and check out all the potential hosts for the night. If they are at home tonight, they will be happy to welcome you. What is the price ? First, the whom of your presence and the travel stories you might share with them. Also, you should bring something to eat or to drink for dinner. That’s it. Out of wild camping, Couchsurfing is one of the things that can help you to deploy your wings for the biggest travels.

My first and great Couchsurfing experience with Alvin, a Singapore citizen who welcomed me in his flat in Southampton, during his internship in England last summer.

Realizing you travel dreams with low ressources is all about trusting in the feasibility of your projects. When you open your mind to the universe’s field of possibilities, then you’re able to meet up the best people who can help you to improve and release your experiences. The best enemy of your travel projects is your own fear. Sometimes, the easiest solution is all about breaking you own barriers and get back to your human ressources. Get your tent, your motivation and your bundle, and let’s go out there !
